GIA, Giovani Italiani Australia Inc, is a new association formed to represent and coordinate the interaction of young Italian Australians across Australia.
BACKGROUND

In December 2007, a group of giovani from each state came together with the support of Comites and the CGIE to discuss issues of importance. Arising out of this meeting was the formation of a national coordinating group, now known as GIA, Giovani Italiani Australia Inc.

FUNCTIONS

GIA is a national association that represents and gives voice to the needs, initiatives and experiences of Italian Australian youth. GIA also recognises that Italian Australian youth have many skills and experiences to offer to the Italian Australian community as well as the wider community.

GIA has been instrumental in lobbying for greater recognition for young people within Com.It.Es (Committee for Italians Abroad) in each state, CGIE (General Council of Italians Abroad), and the Australia- Italia MP Forum, and is working towards further positive change.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership to GIA is open to Australian residents aged 18-35 of any nationality/decent (not just Italians) and is free! Simply fill in the membership form and send it to us.
